• A domiciliary carer has own place to live and drives to and from client’s homes for
morning, lunch, tea and bedtime visits vs. A Live-in carer lives in the same home
with the client and may have a break of a few hours every day.
• As a carer you will be involved in personal hygiene, providing medication, client’s
daily needs, a bit of cleaning, cooking and shopping if necessary.
• Pay per shift means the employee is paid from the first client until the last client
with driving and waiting time included vs. Pay per contact time means you are usually paid at a higher rate but only for the time you spend with a client – all driving or waiting will be paid at a lower rate or will not be paid at all.
• Harino Care pays per shift!
• Having your own car means you must keep your car in a reliable, roadworthy
condition, pay your own business insurance, road tax and other expenses. On the other side you will get paid £0.35 per every business mile from your house in the morning to your house again after you finish the shift vs. Having an Harino car where all costs are paid by the business and as a bonus, you can use it for private purposes on your days off (you will be charged for petrol only)
• Harino Care can provide you with a petrol card even with your own car to avoid using your own funds.
• Business miles driven in your own car are accurately calculated by a Telematics tracking device plugged into your vehicle so there are no doubts as to how many miles you should be paid.
